Sheetwrite 0.5.3 publishes readable JavaScript again. It has no API changes. All seven packages release as 0.5.3.

Highlights

Changes

Readable published JavaScript

0.5.2 removed the whitespace from the published JavaScript to make the packages smaller. Each module became one long line, so stack traces pointed to line 1 and the code was hard to read when you debug an app. 0.5.3 publishes the compiler output again, with one statement per line.

The npm packages are larger again, about the same as in 0.5.1. If your production build uses a bundler that minifies, the code that your users download is the same as with 0.5.2. If you load the package files directly, without a minifying bundler, they download more bytes. Module paths, exported names, type documentation, and WebAssembly binaries do not change.

Downloads are npm pack tarball sizes; installs are unpacked sizes.

Engine crate version

The sheetwrite-wasm Rust crate, which builds @sheetwrite/wasm and @sheetwrite/formulas, now has the same version as those packages. The release process keeps them together.

Upgrade checklist
